What is the Jamaica First Movement (JFM)?
JFM is a political movement and a commitment to our people. We’re here to deliver real change that every Jamaican can feel in their daily life. Our mission is simple: unite the nation, rebuild trust, and lay down strong foundations for a Jamaica that’s fair, secure/safe, where growth and development is sustainable.
This isn’t about power—it’s about bridging divides, restoring hope, and stepping aside when Jamaica stands tall on her own terms. We’re not asking you to follow. We’re inviting you to build with us.
Is this a religious or "church" movement?
No. We are not a religious or church movement.
What does the Jamaica First Movement stand for?
The Jamaica First Movement is rooted in the values that define us as a nation—justice, truth, and righteousness. These words are part of our anthem, our motto, and our identity. JFM is about honoring those roots while building something bold and new for Jamaica.
Who started the JFM?
The Jamaica First Movement was started by a team of patriotic Jamaicans who desire to see Jamaica fulfil her destiny and play her part in advancing the welfare of the whole human race.
Who can join the Jamaica First Movement?
We welcome patriotic Jamaicans from all walks of life—everyday citizens, members of the private sector, civil society, politicians (including leaders from both major parties), and our diaspora family.
What matters most is your commitment to building a better Jamaica. If you believe in fresh thinking, integrity, justice, truth, and real change, this movement is for you.
Why only for five years?
This timeline defines our commitment: to unite the nation, strengthen our systems, and lay the foundation for honest, capable leadership. We are not here to entrench ourselves in power, but to fulfill a focused mandate and step aside. This is nation-building, not self-preservation.
What do you think you can achieve in 5 years?
We have a committed team from all areas of society, ready to work and put Jamaica First. We’re not starting from scratch. We recognize the good that others have done, and we’ll build on what’s already there and strengthening what works.
At the same time, we’re introducing new systems and structures to lay the foundation for lasting change:
A new governance framework to ensure greater transparency, accountability, and integrity—at both the national and parish level.
Systems that empower every Jamaican to shape their own future, and the future of their children.
A Social Empowerment Credit System that rewards service and civic responsibility.
Coalition-building across political lines, the private sector, civil society, and the diaspora—because progress demands partnership.
A Council of Elders to offer wisdom, continuity, and oversight—keeping Jamaica grounded and forward-moving.
We’re setting up systems and grooming leadership that will carry the mission forward—even after the five years are done. This isn’t just a plan. It’s a reset. And it’s how we build a Jamaica that works—for everyone.
With the right people, clear goals, and a deep love for Jamaica, five years is enough.
What happens after the term is over?
After five years of reform and renewal, the Jamaica First Movement (JFM) will step aside—leaving behind stronger systems, trusted leadership, and institutions built to serve the people. Guided by the principle Build, Empower, Exit, our mission is to embed transparency, and unity into Jamaica’s political culture. The policies, practices, and civic habits shaped during our term are designed to outlive us creating an enabling.
How can I join or support the movement?
