Vision Statement

JFM envisions a unified Jamaica in which nation building takes priority over and above personal and political agendas, a Jamaica which is a free democratic society committed to peace, productivity, prosperity and equal opportunity for all its citizens, a Jamaica where law and order prevail, where justice is guaranteed to all and where righteousness, truth and love guide conduct.

The Movement exists to:

  • Facilitate our nation's healing from the wounds of tribalism, hopelessness, injustice, fear and mistrust by restoring commitment to service, integrity, performance, accountability, and transparency.

  • Facilitate the emergence of a new paradigm for governance to save our country from crime, corruption, and economic inertia and lay a solid foundation for the twenty-first century.

  • Provide a vehicle through which the country can be unified combining our efforts to establish a clear and cohesive national vision and program for sustainable development.

  • Pilot constitutional reform to ensure that the framework within which our country operates is sound, sustainable and resonant with the sentiments of Jamaicans from all walks of life.

  • Deepen the democratic process by fostering community driven development.

  • Educate the society towards social responsibility.

  • Restore citizenship to its correct status, rebuilding the spirit of patriotism and guaranteeing for every Jamaican, protection, involvement and opportunity, as natural rights of citizenship.

  • Set guidelines for the future political system and parties with enforceable consequences for non-compliance, to ensure that the prevailing conditions cannot easily recur.

  • Introduce a model of leadership, which draws on the best minds and ‘hearts’ from all political parties and from outside of the parties to build the nation.

  • Create an environment of trust, stability, peace and hope, which will facilitate growth and attract investment.

  • Promote a value system rooted in Godly principles - Love of God and love of neighbour.

  • Restore the population's confidence in leadership and the political process.
